Participation is the Primary Duty of Citizenship

GUEST POST by Michael Bowman (Boise, Idaho) —

A REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT REQUIRES ACTIVE INDIVIDUAL CITIZEN PARTICIPATION IN ALL LEVELS GOVERNMENT. THAT IS OUR PRIMARY DUTY OF CITIZENSHIP. IT IS ALSO THE CORNERSTONE OF THE VERY EXISTENCE OF THIS NATION.

That is being ever vigil in the protection of rights and freedoms from being usurped by an over reaching arm of government. The damage that has been done to our nation still can be reversed and repaired. Nothing can or will be done sitting on our butts and complaining. Complaining without any action to correct the problem is just another form of passive acceptance.

This administration and this congress are both depending on it. Stand back and take a long hard look at the big picture. They are actively fomenting anger and dissent at the extreme ends of both sides of the liberal and conservative equation. Their goal is to paralyze the people in middle, who are the majority, from coming together, standing shoulder to shoulder and stopping this nonsense. They fear US rising and returning our nation to the beacon of freedom of the world.

People used to clamor and flood our borders for just an opportunity, for a sliver of the American dream of success. Now the big draw is for all the entitlement benefits that ARE not constitutional. Entitlements are the tool of a government with the agenda of enslaving the people and wresting full and total control from a free people.

Here is a startling statistic, if things do not change, our freedom will quickly pass away like the dinosaurs did. More immigrants have in the past come to this country and because of the opportunity that is afforded to all in the USA, have become millionaires. This is the pinnacle of financial success that Americans have gauged personal success in life upon for generations.

For our nation to survive and then to fully recover it is the duty of "We The People" to stand united together. In much the same way as our Founding Fathers did in their battle for our independence. We merely must both adopt that spirit once again and then more importantly ACT upon it in a way preserves the God given spirit of freedom and self-determination. It can be turned around in one election and fully restored within three elections. The question each one must ask of themselves and honestly answer is, "Are your dreams, goals and desires for your family's future worth your time, effort and sacrifice now in order to secure a future of opportunity and freedom?" If your answer is YES stand and get busy. The first step would be to investigate local grassroots efforts in your community. They need to have a bottom up approach for change. Their actions and goals need to be centered around a well-developed community needs analysis and a realistic and attainable plan of action. E pluribus unum needs to be the focus. From many perspectives and ideas a plan and platform needs to come together that brings a unity of purpose and effort. I believe if these are done openly and honestly you will find people who will rise out from the body of discussion who will be the best candidates for each level of elected service for the people. There needs to a clear, defined understanding and adherence to Constitutional principles. My personal opinion in Idaho is you need to look to the local Tea Party Organizations that are associated with the Gem State Tea Party; they have this bottom up philosophy. If you answer is no, do nothing and when all hope and freedom is lost do not cry out, it will be the fruits of your labors.
